A Scenic Rim vineyard wedding
There's a particular light that settles over the Scenic Rim in the late afternoon — and it turned an ordinary paddock into something cinematic.

Some of my favourite weddings happen less than an hour from Brisbane, tucked into the hills of the Scenic Rim. This one was set among the vines of a hinterland vineyard just outside Beaudesert — rolling rows, a timber homestead, and mountains going blue behind it as the sun dropped. As a Scenic Rim wedding photographer, it's the kind of setting I never get tired of.
The vineyard
The vine rows run dead straight back toward the ranges, which makes one of the best natural backdrops in South East Queensland. We walked out between them for bridal portraits while the light went gold — the sort of place that needs almost no direction, just great light and two people who are happy to be there.

Golden hour, just the two of them
After the ceremony and a confetti-lined walk back down the aisle, we stole fifteen quiet minutes back in the vines. This is my favourite part of any wedding day — no crowd, no schedule, just the couple and the last of the light. They barely needed a nudge.
The celebration
Festoon lights on, bridal party laughing, and a confetti send-off that said everything about the day. The hinterland dusk did the rest.

Why couples choose a Scenic Rim wedding
Under an hour from Brisbane and the Gold Coast, the Scenic Rim gives you vineyards, mountains and that unhurried country feel — without a long drive for your guests. It's my home turf, so I know its venues, its light, and the quiet corners for portraits that other photographers drive straight past.
If you're planning a wedding in the Scenic Rim, Brisbane or the Gold Coast, I'd love to hear about your day.
